Girls basketball recaps
Here are some scores and stats from Tuesday night girls basketball in Wyandotte County.
• Wyandotte 42, Harmon 25
Led by Royce Shields, the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 league record.
Shields scored a game-high 18 points for Wyandotte. Sara Dominguez scored 15 of Harmon's 25 points.
Wyandotte jumped out to a 13-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, taking a 19-9 lead at the half.
• Piper 39, Bonner Springs 36
The Piper Lady Pirates needed overtime Tuesday to defeat Bonner Springs.
Danyelle Cole and Patrice Lasley scored 30 of Piper's 39 points in the game.
The Lady Pirates seemed to be in command during the game, leading 21-11 at halftime and 30-21 after the third quarter.
But Bonner Springs came back with a balanced attack, as nine players at least scored.
Piper held Bonner to just two points in overtime, improving to 4-1 on the season.
• Lansing 63, Turner 32
A slow start for Turner ended any shot of an upset.
The Lady Golden Bears trailed 17-4 after one and 30-11 at halftime.
Turner's Mortel scored 12 points, a game-high.
