New mural in Argentine vandalized by gang
Posted by Nick Sloan on October 8, 2009 - 9:17am

The newly dedicated mural to the Kansas City Wizards in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kan., was hit with gang-related graffiti earlier this week.
The mural was tagged with "SPV13," indicating a possible gang name or symbol.
Last week, students from New Stanley Elementary School and members of the Kansas City Wizards team helped complete the mural.
The graffiti hit was one of a few reported this week in KCK. Most notably, the exterior of Wyandotte High School had graffiti on it earlier this week. Both the school and mural are now removed of it.

You can't blame the people who live around the Legends for the problems in the Argentine. People in that neighborhood need to care about their own neighborhood. Someone knows who's tagging these buildings. Someone knows what that sign means and who the parents are of the kids who did it. They're the ones who need to do something to stop the vandalism.
And as far as being busy with the casinos and the Legends, I'm betting a lot more of our public safety dollar is spent in the Argentine than it is in the western suburbs.

The police come in after the crimes and take people into custody or issue tickets.
The defacement of a mural is totally idiotic. On Strong we have graffiti a hundred over on a dozen or more buildings.
I guess KCK is too busy with the Casinos and the suburbs to worry about Argentine.
For better or worse the already poor graffiti program that once covered graffiti with a wide variety of non-matching paint jobs is apparently no longer in force over here.
At least the Legends is a wonder to behold!
